It was an idea, spanning five decades, before The Breeze became an official streaming music channel. It was about building a form of media that truly supported the community, providing a platform for local musicians to be heard, for charities and non-profit organizations to get the word out for their activities, and to promote events of interest to all.
Of course, it had to be presented differently. Not like the corporate radio stations that play the same music and 300 songs every month. Not using personalities that don’t even live here. The Breeze wanted To BE RICHMOND!
Starting with iconic Richmond radio legends Bill Bevins, Ilyse Jennings, and Adam Stubbs, The Breeze assembled a group passionate about radio and music who knew how they wanted to make something special. First, they picked their own music which included hundreds of musicians from Central Virginia, resulting in playing over 5,000 unique songs every month, creating a playlist for your day. Their credo. It has to be good music regardless of Genre. Whether you are working at your desk, or are having fun….ANYWHERE. It’s a Richmond sound that you can take anywhere with you…with mobile apps for your phones, Alexa and Sonos speakers, thru Airplay or even your Samsung TV.

We had assembled a broadcast Dream Team…how could we make the channel sound as good or better than satellite and broadcast? Add an audio industry executive to the team to oversee the sound.
Bud Myers came from the home audio industry from companies like Marantz , Advent, and Jensen and knew about new technologies that would make The Breeze come ALIVE!
